I worked at Proscribe (More than a year)
Great exposure to the day in the life of a doctor. You can ask questions, learn the lingo, and see just about everything the doctor sees. No better preparation for medical school than this.
Proscribe management is great and always willing to work with you if something comes up and you communicate clearly and quickly.
Training is excellent and they set you up for success in your job role.
There is opportunity to grow within Proscribe leadership roles if desired.
Pay is $9 an hour for day shifts and $10 for nights--Not the greatest.
When I signed on they asked what days of the week I'm most available to work. I told them and after the first month I was being scheduled to work other days and times than requested. I quickly learned that the work schedule is made monthly so you have to stay on top of your schedule requests each month else you'll get scheduled for unwanted times. However you can usually get things changed if you are on top of things by trading shifts with other scribes in the company.
It is also difficult to become a full-time employee.
Also you might have to work nights at least occasionally, though the doctors for those shifts are often the most chill.
Advice to Management
Continue partnering up with med schools to provide more options for your scribes.
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Proscribe (San Antonio, TX) in September 2018.
After a brief online application, had to fill out a supplemental application survey, and then was sent an online video interview. There was no live interview, it was recorded. It could be done using a phone app or a browser with a webcam. The interview involved 7 questions that were presented as text for 30 seconds, and then a screen that records your video response ranging from 1 minute to 3 minutes. Most of the questions were video responses and maybe one or two were text responses.
