I have been working at Room & Board part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Full benefits for employees that work 24 hours a week. Med, dental, 50% 401k match up to 8%, 3 weeks paid vacation (4 weeks after 5 years), laid back work environment

    Cons

No room for growth. Also, their laid back attitude is permissive for some employees to abuse the system, which causes conflict with the ones that show up to work just because they love the company and what they do.

    Advice to Management

There is really no point. It is a private business and they run it the way they seem speaks best for the brand. Overall I'm happy with management.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Room & Board (San Francisco, CA) in February 2018.

    Interview

After applying online I was called by an HR person and had a casual conversation about myself and my experience. She said she wanted to move forward with an in-person interview in the showroom. I met first with the manager, followed by another person on the leadership team, then with a Design Associate, and then with two other members of the leadership team. It was a two-hour in person interview. Everyone was very kind, thoughtful, and honest.
