It can be a grind at times. You have to committ 2-3 years to really "get it" and master your role. But you get out of it what you put into it.
Advice to Management
Take a closer look at mid-level employee compensation. Comp package is very good for incoming new employees and excellent once you "make it" as a Top 20% performer. But there are some mid-level employees being lured out by competitors for $10-$20K annually that they would have made plus some if they stayed with Sapphire. Oddly enough, some of these people that left never do any better than they thought they would, and actually considered coming back. But I wish they hadn't left in the first place because they were great employees and people I became friends with.

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sapphire Technologies (Woburn, MA) in April 2010.
I was impressed with Sapphire's professionalism. They were quick to respond to my inquiry about the position, and during the interview they were very relaxed and open/honest throughout the whole meeting. They even brought in a fellow Technical Recruiter to give me an unbiased inside scoop.
Reasons for Declining
I turned down the position because I have 4 years experience, and should have known this was an entry level position with only a $30k base, and an OTE of less than $50k annually. Plus the sales environment is phone based/cold calling, short sales cycle, and very very transactional. Great position for someone looking to start in sales, but not for a seasoned rep.
