    Pros

    Working for a worthwhile mission
    Smart, dedicated co-workers
    Engaged audience/customer base
Management team and staff who "live" the business
    Stanford resources

    Cons

    Difficulty addressing and implementing change

    Advice to Management

Embrace change. It's part of the ethos of Stanford and the Alumni Association would benefit from more change. Use the access to wonderful data to continually improve what we do. "Bad news" is an opportunity to reset and rethink. Ours is an industry of the heart, but we should manage with the head.

    Lab Manager Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Stanford University (Stanford, CA) in June 2016.

    Interview

The process took around 2 months. I was contacted by the head of the lab for a phone screening. A week later, I was asked to do a skype interview. Finally, a few weeks later I did an on-campus interview where I met the head and lab members. Was offered the job by the end of that interview.
