I worked at Sutter Health full-time
State of the art automation, good opportunities to learn new skills and expand your knowledge. Employees do support each other.
Bad rep because of bad management style and the hiring the their unqualified friends and family members, very heavy workload, employee turnover is very high. Questionable quality, management seem to turn the blind eye on quality issues. Lack of employee engagement and involvement in decision making to better the service quality.
Advice to Management
The shared lab has the potential of becoming the model of modern healthcare laboratory in California and the nation if management really cared about the quality of services provided to their patients. Sutter Health MUST take a very close look at all shared lab managers and supervisors credentials skills and ability to lead by example, listen to employee concerns and come up with an immediate action plan to restructure management in order to save the lab from failure.

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Sutter Health (Livermore, CA) in June 2016.
The interview had 5 people. one doctor, three CLS and one hiring manager. I was totally unprepared for that many people being that it was my second interview I've had in 10 years and my first panel interview. I also took a tour of the laboratory and reviewed what I knew on a clinical level with one of the Clinical Laboratory Scientists. Everyone asked me 2 questions a piece.
