I worked at Sysco full-time (Less than a year)
Pros
The salary is good, they start high. The benefits are also good; offers health, dental, eye...as well as 401k, etc.
Cons
They start you out in sales for 55k which is great...but then you realize why. You aren't compensated for gas or parking, mileage, lunches at customer accounts, etc. you are expected to be available to your customers 24/7 and I had to work Sunday's all day. There are CONSTANT truck and transportation issues (late trucks especially), and as your customers' sales person you are expected to answer to these problems. Expect to be yelled at screamed at, and lose accounts because of it...Which you are then held accountable for. Constant stress and pressure. I wouldn't work here again if they offered me 100k a year. Half of which I would probably spend on gas and parking for this job anyway.
Advice to Management
Offer reimbursement and take accountability for transportation issues with customers.
