Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at 15Five (United States)

    Interview

Applied for the role after finding the opportunity on LinkedIn. Recruiting coordinator emailed me 1 week later to set up video interview with hiring manager. The video interview with the hiring manager was great. I got a great idea on what it was like to work at 15Five, the culture, what they are looking for from this role, and competencies needed to success and thrive.

The next steps were an interview with one of the direct reports on the team, followed by a panel presentation, followed by interview with someone from C-Suite. This is a typical interview process for a director level role for a newly established insights/data team so there were no surprises on my side on the amount of interviews.

15Five decided to go in another direction with the candidate for the role and let me know via email when I was no longer being considered for the role.

This is one of the best managed interview processes I've participated in.
