    I worked at 212 Marketing Solutions full-time (Less than a year)


    It kept me from starvation and homelessness for a brief time.


    The hours are unreasonably long, the company infrastructure barely escapes the definition of a pyramid scheme, turnover is so frequent that I couldn't establish any functioning relationships with my coworkers, and the owner fluctuates wildly between aloof indifference to her employees and inappropriate intimacy. The owner's inconsistent treatment of employees of different genders was starkly evident, and her obvious favoritism toward men and active adversarial attitude toward women drove a lot of my coworkers out of the business. Since this is a job based entirely on commission, this job sometimes requires longer than normal hours to meet a livable wage, and all extra paperwork and in-office education must happen outside of a normal 8-10 hour day. The sales role is also entirely door-to-door in residential areas. While I never experienced any threat to my person, you are still a single agent walking around private property for the entirety of the work day. The workplace culture was founded on anxiety and pressure for the next sale, which could mean the difference between paying or not paying the next month's rent. To encourage the bond between coworkers, the company leadership practically enforced after-hours drinking. I'm all for a nice frosty glass of beer after a long day's work, but the amount of money and time spent on alcohol-fueled team bonding was not monetarily or physically healthy.

    Advice to Management

    The management should take care to professionally separate personal biases from the workplace. They could provide a more encouraging work environment to show that the leadership is invested in each person's (and not just each male person's) professional growth.
