Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

"Great place to work"

Everyone who works here is very nice and highly motivated. It's fun to work at a place that is doing well with a growing team. Our platform is really slick and it has product/market fit. Education

The Convexity culture is asynchronous, which may not be for everyone. We rely heavily on written communication—which is not a con for me, but it's a consideration for any candidate looking to join.

    Difficult Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at 360Learning (United States)

The discovery interview with the coach is disappointing. Half of the time, I have difficulty understanding my coach's English. For example, she asked me how I would do "something ."I didn't understand the question, so I had to ask for clarification. Then it turned out she didn't know how to say journal entry in English, so she said it in French. When I asked her why she chose 360, she told me she did not choose 360 Learning. It was the company's recruiter who found her on LinkedIn. I also asked her how to interpret the company's Low Authority culture in real life. She just said people learn from each other.
An interview is a two-way process. While 360 Learning seems to be a fantastic company, I cannot imagine any candidates genuinely want to work with someone who doesn't even want to communicate with mutual respect. My advice is to train your “coach” to give a proper interview.
