7 Cups is an on-demand emotional health service and online therapy provider

Our bridging technology anonymously & securely connects real people to real listeners in one-on-one chat.

Anyone who wants to talk about whatever is on their mind can quickly reach out to a trained, compassionate listener through our network. We have over 400,000 trained volunteer listeners who come from all walks of life and have diverse experiences. They provide support across 189 countries and in 140 languages.

People connect with listeners on 7 Cups for all kinds of reasons, from big existential thoughts to small, day-to-day things that we all experience. Unlike talking to family or friends, a 7 Cups listener doesn’t judge or try to solve problems and say what to do. Our listeners just listen. They understand. They give you the space you need to help you clear your head.

I have been working at 7 Cups full-time (More than 5 years)

I've been working at 7 Cups for a long time. I love that the work has an immediate impact on people. 7 Cups focuses primarily on people with less financial resources and people that are suffering. It is great to work in a place that has this focus.

There is a lot of demand and a lot of work to do. They are always experimenting with ways of adding more people to help, but the demand never ends so it can feel overwhelming or like there is too much to do.

What an interesting experience. Applied via AngelList and was contacted almost immediately and asked for my availability to chat. I was then sent an email (addressed to someone else) asking to complete a survey (not responding to the original ask of availability for a chat) to which I did. I was then sent a note saying they were no longer interested.

So interested, not interested, wrong email, no conversation. Got it.
