    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at A Check Global (Riverside, CA).

    Interview

I was a referral hire. There was an onsite interview. Showed up 20 minutes early as requested to fill out the application. The hiring manager was very polite. Basic interview question such as why do you want to work here, why should we hire you?
She hired me on the spot pending a drug screening and background check. The company calle me to schedule a drug screening, which was a 2 hour wait. The background screening process took about 3 weeks. while waiting they sent me to their sister company where I went through another interview and took basic typing tests with their sister company called AppleOne. At this point I'd already put in my two week notice for my other job and then I found out that AppleOne is actually a temporary agency. Even though I was hired as a permanent, I never would have taken the job if I new it was a temp to hire position starting at $10.00 an hour.
The 2 week training class is a breeze, and a joke. They basically introduce you to a Lead from each department who speaks to you about what they do. There was a one week training session with a really snotty woman who knew they gossip on everyone and wasn't afraid to share. Really unprofessional. You're then given your computer and start verifications with plenty of help. Each lead closes their files differently and some are shadier than others. I was told I had to get through at least 50 components a day, which I started doing, but now I'm told I need to get through 100. They don't like paying over time, but get mad at you if you leave on time. If you can't get to all your files, it is mandatory to email them to your lead so she can find help, but when you do, the leads tell you, you can't have help and that you need to complete them by yourself. Then head management repremands you because they weren't sent to a lead for help. What a viscous circle!
Come to find out, most of their verifiers are calling and hanging up right away and then noting that they couldn't get ahold of anyone. I was interested as to how the girl next to me got through 170 files. She had a conversation with 4 callers her whole shift and sat talking to another coworker for hours & then won employee of the week for her files closed. Another girl says, with most files, she calls the company twice but hangs up before they answer and then makes a call to the applicant and if they cant get the documents to her withing they hour, their file is closed and she moves on. Just really shady. I was told we were supposed to be HELPING people get jobs and providing good employees to our clients. Come to find out, most applicants have no chance. It's just sad.
