    Recruiter Interview

    Average Interview

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at AB Staffing (Gilbert, AZ) in September 2017.

I cold-called AB Staffing after finding them on Google. I was contacted for a phone screen and then asked to come in and interview. Prior to the interview, I was sent an application to fill out which included my Social Security Number, full salary history, and a release for a background check. I found this both demeaning and extremely premature as I had not even had a formal interview yet. Because I really wanted the interview, I complied with the request even though I strongly felt that this was against my better judgment. I met with both HR and a recruiter for the in-person interview. HR spent our time talking about the history of the company and explaining where the company is heading in to the future. The recruiter spend his time with me grilling me about choices I had made in the past, very much trying to lead me to apologize for them. I sent thank you notes shortly after the interviews. They went unacknowledged. A week later, I emailed both interviewers asking for feedback. I received a standard rejection letter. I requested that all personal information I provided be destroyed.

    Interview Questions

    • The recruiter asked about my employment history. He really grilled me on my choices to leave previous positions. He stated that his beliefs were that we create our own opportunities in life and asked me if I regretted leaving my previous employers when I did. He also implied that he saw failure when he looked at my resume and asked me what I saw when I looked at it.   1 Answer
