Mission: Powering the success of global business, CPAs, CGMAs and specialty credentials by providing the most relevant knowledge, resources and advocacy, and protecting the evolving public interest.
I have been working at AICPA full-time (More than 3 years)
Flexibility in work schedule
Work from home (as needed) based on agreement with manager
Dress how you want within business reason
Summer hours on Fridays
Make your own sundaes on occasion (if you are in my dept!)
Excellent vacation and sick plan
Excellent benefits - medical, dental, vision, 401-k
Company Celebrations with awesome food
Local food trucks
Table tennis and foos ball in breakroom (good meetings happen over these)
MANY Great laughs with some terrific people - making work fun!
It will be a con if you do NOT like being around happy people like me
Time zones can be a challenge but that's all part of working for a global company - wouldn't say it's a negative - just something people need to expect
Advice to Management
No one asked me to post this or these things. I did this on my own because I wanted to share this is a good place but has growing pains with changes/transformation but it will get there because I believe and trust in management.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at AICPA (Durham, NC) in October 2014.
I was escorted to a small conference room and told I would be meeting with one of the in-house graphic designers, the Production Manager, the head writer, and one of the vice-presidents of the firm. I met each one of these people individually. Oddly, I brought my portfolio with me, but not one of the interviewers asked to see it.
