There are a lot of people here with very good hearts. The production staff is courteous, friendly, very knowledgeable, and willing. The company has a niche market that is relatively stable, and the ownership and management are committed to doing what is right for the company. It is possible for an individual to make a difference, both in morale and in ideas.
The tendency to micromanage results in more job stress than necessary. Meetings can consume inordinate amounts of time, and work is expected to be completed despite the time spent in meetings. IT support is non-existent. Making only a single type of product could be more fulfilling.
Advice to Management
The owners need to take a good close look at their young proteges. They play political games and try and cover for their own lack of competence. They need to work on forging real contact and genuine support from the rest of the employees if they are to avoid having a negative impact on the company.
