AWeber – Why Work With Us?

AWeber delivers powerfully-simple email marketing software specifically designed for small businesses. Since 1998, we’ve helped over 1,000,000 small businesses around the world grow their businesses by giving them the tools and knowledge they need to connect with their prospects and customers.

AWeber is a 100% remote-first team. That means we work remotely while making an impact on customers around the world. We value collaboration, flexibility, and entrepreneurial spirit — not what you wear or where you choose to do your most productive work.

We believe that an incredible culture is not about where we work, but about the people that we work with. That’s why our core values are so important to us.

We look to each team member to bring their unique AWesomeness to our culture and to embody our core values every day.

Our Core Values

  1. Create Remarkable Experiences. We love creating experiences that knock our customers’ socks off (don’t worry, we send them a new pair). We do this with our live, 24/7 customer solutions team, educational resources, and email marketing software that’s easy and fun to use.
  2. Execute with Passion. We’re pumped to make an impact on real business owners living their dreams. Heck, it’s the reason we’re so driven to deliver amazing results for our customers each day.
  3. Foster respect and cooperation. AWeber is a family. We treat people like people first. Our remote-first team members collaborate daily to solve problems creatively and make our software better than ever.
  4. Listen to what people say about us. Invite feedback. We know every team member’s opinion matters, and feedback is how we grow. That’s why we encourage each other to be open and listen to suggestions from one another and our customers.
  5. Learn. Educate. Innovate. We always strive for better, and education is a big part of that. We attend events and conferences, and seek formal education in our respective fields. And we take it upon ourselves to educate our customers — because when they win, we all win.
  6. Don't take ourselves too seriously. Have fun! We love what we do and have fun while doing it. We gather virtually to kick-back, relax and have fun with happy hours and events — like, learning gardening tips or how to craft the perfect cocktail.

Want to bring your individual AWesomeness to AWeber and join our amazing team? Check out our current job openings.

At AWeber, who we are is just as important as our mission — to make email marketing powerfully-simple for small businesses.  Recently, the way we interact, communicate, and exist with one another has shifted.  But one thing has never — and will never — change for AWeber: our commitment to our team and the customers we serve.  That’s why in an effort to maximize productivity while keeping our team safe in the long-run, we’re now a remote-first team.

Our people are the core of our company culture.  That’s why we hire team members who keep our core values at heart. What does that look like to us?

  1. Create Remarkable Experiences. You consistently go above and beyond to create that "wow!" factor. Status quo is never good enough for you.
  2. Execute with Passion. To you, work doesn't feel like work because you love what you do. Each day brings an exciting new set of challenges.
  3. Foster respect and cooperation. You bring your whole self to work (the good, the bad, and the unique). You celebrate the differences in others and have no time for office politics.
  4. Listen to what people say about us. Invite feedback. You don't take feedback personally. You know it's necessary for you to be the best version of yourself. One might even say you crave the fresh perspective.
  5. Learn. Educate. Innovate. You are a constant learner, whether that means you attend conferences, take new courses, or follow reddit channels to stay up to date on the latest trends. You think of creative ways to implement those learnings and make the world a better place.
  6. Don't take ourselves too seriously. Have fun! You know how to have a good time and inspire others to do the same. Laughter is the best medicine after all.

If this sounds like you, and you’re ready to make an impact by joining our diverse, remote-first team, check out the openings at AWeber.

    Customer Solutions Specialist Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Chalfont, PA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Difficult Interview

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at AWeber (Chalfont, PA) in March 2019.

I found the job posting online and AWeber mentioned all video cover letters would be watched so I made one in addition to the written cover letter.

Soon after submitting the cover letters and resume, they emailed me a "Take Home Test" to complete which was 8 questions. Probably took me about an hour and a half.

Soon after submitting this, I was invited via email to schedule an interview. Something odd about this invitation is that no where in this email does it mention that this interview is a phone interview, however, the email ends with a physical address. Understandably, I thought the interview was in-person.

I filled out my availability for an interview and I didn't hear anything back for a few days. I decided to follow-up and ask the employee who signed the interview invitation if I needed to do anything to confirm an interview time. The employee replied quickly and told me I had an interview that day in an hour. At this same moment, an email was sent to me confirming this interview was in an hour. Still believing that the interview was in-person, I rescheduled for the following day. The employee apologized saying it was her mistake. Upon reading the interview confirmation I discovered the interview was a phone interview. I considered telling the interviewer I could still do a phone interview but I worried the back-and-forth would negatively affect my chances.

The next day, I had my phone interview. The person conducting the interview was late. She apologized.

I didn't do well on the interview. There were mostly questions about past job experiences. I would have preferred an in-person interview. Maybe a phone interview makes sense for the job.

Even though I didn't do well on the interview, AWeber could have done many things to make the experience smoother. The application process was probably at least five hours altogether. I would have appreciated more of an effort on their part. Overall, it did not seem they knew what they were doing.
