    Application

    I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at AWeber (Chalfont, PA) in March 2019.

    Interview

    I found the job posting online and AWeber mentioned all video cover letters would be watched so I made one in addition to the written cover letter.

    Soon after submitting the cover letters and resume, they emailed me a "Take Home Test" to complete which was 8 questions. Probably took me about an hour and a half.

    Soon after submitting this, I was invited via email to schedule an interview. Something odd about this invitation is that no where in this email does it mention that this interview is a phone interview, however, the email ends with a physical address. Understandably, I thought the interview was in-person.

    I filled out my availability for an interview and I didn't hear anything back for a few days. I decided to follow-up and ask the employee who signed the interview invitation if I needed to do anything to confirm an interview time. The employee replied quickly and told me I had an interview that day in an hour. At this same moment, an email was sent to me confirming this interview was in an hour. Still believing that the interview was in-person, I rescheduled for the following day. The employee apologized saying it was her mistake. Upon reading the interview confirmation I discovered the interview was a phone interview. I considered telling the interviewer I could still do a phone interview but I worried the back-and-forth would negatively affect my chances.

    The next day, I had my phone interview. The person conducting the interview was late. She apologized.

    I didn't do well on the interview. There were mostly questions about past job experiences. I would have preferred an in-person interview. Maybe a phone interview makes sense for the job.

    Even though I didn't do well on the interview, AWeber could have done many things to make the experience smoother. The application process was probably at least five hours altogether. I would have appreciated more of an effort on their part. Overall, it did not seem they knew what they were doing.
