    Pros

    * Insanely smart people who push themselves and help each other improve and do better
    * A company culture that values individuality, diversity, and creativity of its team members
    * Leadership that is obsessive about continuous improvement for our customers and our team
    * Paid benefits, free amazing gourmet lunch, awesome company events.... there is no shortage of perks and benefits
    * Career path and mentorship programs, and a strong preference for promotion from within
    * Agile and devops are in the DNA of the company from top to bottom.
    * Transparency: if you ask, you're likely to get a useful answer.

    AWeber is a technology company, but is a lot more customer focused than many technology companies. The customer focus is what binds our whole company together as a unified team. In other tech companies, engineers don't even know the names of people in marketing, and sometimes there is no real customer service presence. At AWeber, product teams are cross-functional and cross-departmental, so the daily standup and other team meetings include people from marketing, customer solutions, product, as well as all of the engineering disciplines - development, QA, operations, design, etc. The cross-pollenation and ideas that come from this diversity of thought is pretty amazing.

    Cons

    * Occasionally the company moves *too* fast to improve things, either in the technology space, or in the process/management space, which can cause some bumps & bruises. It's usually worth it.

    Advice to Management

    I think AWeber is unstoppable as long as leadership continues to push for continuous improvement and transparency, and continues to actively encourage honest feedback from all parts and levels of the organization.

    Application

    I applied online. I interviewed at AWeber (Chalfont, PA) in April 2017.

    Interview

    The hiring process took about 2 weeks from submitting my resume/cover letter/video cover letter (not required but helps a good deal I'm told), then an online personality test, a take home questionnaire submitted via email, phone interview, group interview with some team leads and then a casual lunch/interview with some team members in the cafeteria where the food is awesome! I then received an offer (which I accepted) along with their benefits overview and a simple background/credit check document.

    So, this seems like a lot...it's not! I'm someone who is highly introverted and gets irrationally nervous/anxious when it comes to interviews. Somehow these guys were able to make interviewing for four people at once less stressful than most one-on-one interviews are. Upon entering the AWeber headquarters, it was almost unusual or weird how happy everyone was to be there after coming from a stressful office environment. The group interview was in a relaxing meeting room full of vibrant colors and a great big table. Again, they made it an incredibly stress-free environment.

    After interviewing the recruiter took on a tour of the building which was incredible and (spoiler alert) we down the sliding boards!

    I didn't hesitate to accept the offer, which was more pay than I put as my desired salary not to mention the unheard of benefits provided for the team. Hooray!

    Interview Questions

    • Most of the interview questions for the Customer Solutions Specialist position were relatively basic and revolved around my experience in customer service. They didn't ask how you would handle specific scenarios or put you on the spot, I found the questions relatively open which allowed me to give my own views on providing great customer experiences.   Answer Question
