I like my direct supervisor and co-workers. The fact that they are owned by MasterCard gives me hope for the future, but after waiting for radical changes for over a year I am quickly loosing hope.
Lack of senior management support for the success of the business. People are set up to fail. No career advancement. Horrible HR function. Terrible compensation packages. No sense of urgency. Myopic thinking is the norm.
Advice to Management
Major changes at the senior levels are needed. Way too many transactional leaders with no vision or understanding of customer and market needs. Bureaucratic processes should be eliminated and a flatter organization created. Decisions and empowerment need to be decentralized to the local markets. Finance and product shouldn't be running the business.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Access Prepaid Worldwide (Peterborough, England (UK)) in January 2012.
There was one theory paper asking to design BlackJack game database schema.
Then there was face to face with Tech Lead explaining the BlackJack Design and further Technical Questions.
As I was being recruited for Oracle Developer position, there was thorough questioning about my understanding of Oracle.
