Our story began in 1983 when James (Jim) Schwantz founded Acres Group. Jim’s vision was to build a company based on being the “best at what we do”. Through hard work, dedication, mentoring and training, and exemplary customer service, Jim’s vision has become a reality.

Internships – Customer Service Specialists

When interviewing for our internships, we look for an ideal candidate that is majoring in Horticulture, Landscape Design, Sustainable Agriculture, Landscape Contracting and Management, Landscape Construction and Maintenance, Architecture Arts, Humanities or some related field.  You'll contribute to a team doing meaningful work right away, helping build deeper relationships with customers and learning the ins and out of landscaping (i.e. property walks, bid preparation, account management, production, purchasing, estimating and giving customer presentations).  Internships are paid and typically 10 weeks in length and offered at all three of our facilities; Wauconda, Roselle and Plainfield, IL.  Additional benefits include housing assistance, learning through direct mentor relationships and many fun outings, educational events, and on the job training.

    Everyone at Acres Group and the additional divisions are really good people who are respectful and nice to work with. This is something you don't always find in today's working world.

    Cons

    Mother nature makes it difficult to plan and you have to be flexible. No two days are the same.
