I worked at Ada County full-time (Less than a year)
Great benefits. Best health insurance I've ever had. If you work here, get a flexible spending account. It's worth it.
Staff from top to bottom are committed to kids' well being. Senior management knows employees on a first-name basis and sets a positive tone.
The front desk can be overwhelming. Often you'll have several parties scheduled for hearings in the same court at the same time. This keeps parents and kids waiting for hours at a time, and you're the target of their ire.
Plenty of job opportunities in Ada County if you're willing to stick around, but job mobility isn't matched to talent.
I applied online. I interviewed at Ada County (Boise, ID) in May 2013.
One interview with a panel of people and one interview with Probation Manager and Juvenile Court Director. Originally the panel consisted of Probation Officers and Supervisors, but there was too much drama, so I believe it's only Supervisors now.
