I worked at Adamson Analytical Lab part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Choose when you work, super lenient when you have homework or other obligations

    Cons

Constant deadlines, every sample has a 24,48, or 1 week deadline that all the test and paperwork need to be completed by. Very unorganized. Being a chemist there means working by yourself without the ability to talk to many people. High school and college students constantly coming to only work one summer or one year make it hard to develop friendships with many employees.

    Analytical Chemist Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Adamson Analytical Lab (Corona, CA).

    Interview

Very quick, very easy. Call for an interview, then if you do well they will hire on the spot. There is no drug test and there wasn't even a background check for me. I was given a 16 question chemistry test and then she asked me what classes I was taking and planning on taking.

    Interview Questions

    • All chemistry you learn in honors chemistry. My friend and I took it in 2009 and the test was pretty hard, but friend we saw take it afterwards had a much easier version that was mostly just converting units and making reagents. Make 5L of a reagent with x molarity. The only questions were just MxL=MxL.

If you got an A in chemistry it will be easy as hell, if you didn't get an A you really shouldn't be applying to a pharmaceutical lab as a chemist.

    Negotiation

There wasn't much negotiation. I didn't know how much I was making until my first pay check.
