I have been working at Addition Elle part-time
Part time is a very fun job. Overall Great company. Great discount which makes it all worth it. Discount applies to sister stores too which is nice. Bonus structure in place if meeting targets
Not a steady schedule. Not guarenteed hours for part time. Can be high stress at times. Fairly high turnover rate
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Addition Elle (Calgary, AB (Canada)).
I've shopped at Addition Elle my entire youth and professional career and have always left the store feeling confident and attractive, unfortunately my experience interviewing with a particular location has ruined a lifetime of positive experiences and forever changed how I view the branding "fashion democracy".
I was told that I wasn't fashionable, dressed in still very much in style, yet last season pants, from that very location. Ironic. I dressed like the professional person I am, in a stylish and conservative manner befitting the role I was applying for.
I put together an outfit the manager agreed she would wear based on the scenario she gave me.
I was honest on my store assessment. The feedback loop requires discussion to end the loop and that didn't happen.
The sour taste in my mouth is being told I'm not fashionable while wearing an addition Elle outfit....
Whether I was denied this role based on my looks or last seasons wardrobe, I'll never know, and I don't care to know. I know I won't be spending another penny in any reitmans brands. They seem to forget they aren't the only option for women anymore.
