High technology products and working with the leading semiconductor manufacturers.
Established company with deep pockets to invest.
Still recovering from the difficulties of the Verigy acquisition.
Pushing out many of the employees responsible for Advantest's last decade of big profits.
No clear direction to invest for growth, while simultaneously facing stagnation in historical market.
Advice to Management
Top management should not be a glorified sales role. Delegate the sales and spend more time actually being aware of what the teams are doing and managing ways to make the company more productive.
I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Advantest (San Jose, CA) in June 2015.
The overall process consisted of a phone interview, a programming screening test and then an on-site interview. The on-site interview took about two hours and was very technical. The questions asked were in programming and electrical engineering
