We are one of the largest faith-based health care providers in the United States. For 150 years, we have carried on a tradition of providing whole-person care that not only addresses patients' physical ailments, but also supports their emotional and spiritual well-being. We demonstrate the same level of compassion and care for our employees as well, doing all that we can to help them realize their full potential – both personally and professionally.
You are a compassionate, talented professional who wants to work in an environment where you can live out your faith and your values. You are excited about being part of a team that uses the latest technology and medical research to ensure patients receive quality care, but who also recognize that great care is always personal. You enjoy going out of your way to make each patient and their family feel special, and are passionate about guiding them toward optimal health.
AWARDS AND ACCOLADES
Our community is global and so is our reach. From coordinating medical mission trips in Ethiopia to planting school gardens in Orlando, we are constantly seeking ways to go beyond hospital walls in improving the health of our communities. As a member of our team, you will be encouraged to use your talents in fun, meaningful ways that bring joy and healing to people around the world.
Regardless of geography, every AdventHealth team member is united today in our mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ. When we come together around this common mission, there is nothing that can stop us from achieving our greatest potential, providing the best quality care and ensuring that every consumer that interacts with us ultimately has the best possible experience.
Widely respected as a customer-focused organization that engages individuals in their health by delivering Christ-centered, wholistic, best practice care across a connected, comprehensive continuum of services. With Christ as our example, AdventHealth cares for and nurtures people: our employees, our communities, our healthcare professionals, and those who trust us for care and healing.
We consistently deliver exceptional care and strive for excellence in all we do.
We are committed to improving the health, prosperity and well-being of the communities we serve.
We are called to uphold the highest standards, with integrity driving every decision we make and every action we take.
We are guided by relentless stewardship in the management of the resources entrusted to us.
We celebrate diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences from everyone we interact with, allowing us to embrace opportunities to learn and grow from new perspectives. Christ loved all and we strive to be inclusive and ensure all employees, regardless of background, feel part of the team.
Our Service Standards are actionable ways we will live out our mission to Extend the Healing Ministry of Christ. Each team member uses our Service Standards to guide the work we do in providing exceptional service to patients, guests, families and each other.
Our cultural framework and service standards define how we interact with our consumers and each other, articulating and demonstrating our values, setting forth our purpose.
The role each and every team member plays in extending our mission, representing our cultural integrity, and aligning our vision, values and the service standards through which we live those out every day is invaluable. Our employees’ participation in this experience ensures that at every level, our consumers can recognize who we are and what we stand for.
Medical pioneers of the Seventh-day Adventist Church established an innovative health care program in Battle Creek, Michigan, in 1866, looking to the healing ministry of Christ for inspiration.
During a time when many medical treatments were as harmful as the diseases they were intended to cure, the revolutionary health care center not only treated diseases, but also taught people how to prevent them through good nutrition, exercise and hygiene. It was a place where each person was valued as a creation of God, and where caregivers created a healing environment focused on providing extraordinary whole-person care. Their commitment and philosophy continue today in hundreds of hospitals, nursing homes and clinics around the world.
Part of this worldwide network, AdventHealth was founded in 1973 to support and strengthen the Seventh-day Adventist health care organizations in the Southern and Southwestern regions of the United States. Today it is a national leader in quality, safety and patient satisfaction, comprised of 46 hospital campuses and more than 80,000 employees.
Although separated by geography, each of our facilities is united by the mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ. Today we continue the tradition of whole-person care by practicing and sharing CREATION Health, a blueprint for living a healthy, happy life based on the principles given in the Bible’s creation story: Choice, Rest, Environment, Activity, Trust, Interpersonal relationships, Outlook and Nutrition.
If you are new to nursing, we invite you to become the nurse you were meant to be. Our Nurse Residency Program is designed to help you make a smooth transition into the hospital and specialty unit of your choice. Along the way, you can count on us to provide the support, training and mentorship you need to become the nurse you were meant to be.
Some of our program benefits include:
"I have enjoyed the residency program because I feel that the instructors are there for me, and I was given plenty of time with a clinical coach before going it alone. I have and will continue to recommend this program to any nurse with limited nursing experience. It is a great program and will only help a new nurse hone in on the clinical skills needed in everyday nursing practice."

I get to geek out about and do what I enjoy, have a boss that understands work/life balance, and my immediate team members are wonderful. I work in a very professional and respectful environment, and I can speak freely and honesty about concerns with my leaders.
From my experience, none... but I’ll acknowledge that may not be the same for other teams under other leaders.
Advice to Management
Focus and invest on making all your mid-level managers great managers, who manage consistently with your vision. Many managers are already there, or pretty close. Some could use some help.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at AdventHealth (Altamonte Springs, FL) in January 2017.
There were 4 different rounds. Phone, meeting with the supervisor and manager, meeting with the manager and director, and then meeting with the vp of finance. It was a lengthy process, but everyone was extremely nice.
