I applied through an employee referral I interviewed at Aetion (United States)

    Interview

I applied through employee referral in mid-January. I was immediately contacted to schedule a phone screen with Human Resources. Aetion explained the interview process: phone screen, meeting with a senior member, completing a take home assessment, and then meeting with a panel.

Three weeks later, Human Resources reached out to schedule a video conference interview. Aetion provided a list of sample behavioral questions and a format guide detailing how to respond.

I met with a Director for 45 minutes. He began the interview by confirming that he did not read my resume or cover letter. He spoke for most of the interview, acknowledging himself that he's long winded, and did not ask questions that allowed me to highlight 1) how I could add value to Aetion and 2) my preparation for the interview. I had one minute to ask him questions, and one minute for his response before he ended the call.

I received an email the following Monday explaining that Aetion was no longer interested in my candidacy due to my lack of experience with real world data. My previous employment and education were directly related to the role. They knew my skill set prior to the two interviews and could have tested my knowledge with the take home assessment.
