    Positive Outlook

I worked at Affiliated FM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Respected company in the market, good people, engineering based training is good

    Cons

Management rarely evaluates the work involved in the Production Underwriter role, expectations for them are too varied and not generally achievable in a normal work week. When changes are made, management does not consult the people actually working in the role. Salaries are low compared to the marketplace. Underwriting training is not robust enough. Difficult to advance if you are not an engineer.

    Advice to Management

Consult those in the role prior to making changes. More regularly evaluate job duties. "Total Rewards" still don't compensate for being underpaid and overworked - this is how you lose good people

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Affiliated FM (Woodland Hills, CA).

    Interview

Interviewed with two people from management. The former HR person gave you a two minutes to do about 100 math based question. Then I met with the Division VP for the position. We spoke for about 20 minutes. I worked as a Temp to hire, then I was offered FTE. Initially, I was quoted a salary and then they tried to do a bait and switch by offering me a lower base salary.
