What would keep you in a company for 10 years? In September 2020, our CEO John Brown marked his 10th anniversary at Agoda. He began his career here when we were just 200 people and far less structured. He now leads a company that’s 20x larger. Agoda Careers chatted with him about his path to Agoda, being our first non-founder CEO, the challenges of COVID-19, and advice on how to succeed at Agoda.

After months of working from home, Agoda has been gradually reopening our global offices to continue our synergistic, in-person culture. Meeting and exceeding government regulations have been our top priorities. - very dynamic, changes are constant - employees are given strong ownership and are expected to constantly test/validate their hypothesis - upper management is engaged and open to


- ownership is a requirement to succeed, not suitable for everyone - teams sometimes compete internally and company could benefit from better alignment - induction for new employees is not always

    I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Agoda (Bangkok)


    Process: HR screening followed by Hiring Manager interview. I was not selected for the rest of the process. Also, I was not asked to complete behavioral surveys are other online tests.

    The HR team was exemplary. They communicated very well all along the process and made sure I knew what to expect during the Hiring Manager interview.
    The call with the Hiring Manager was pleasant and conversational.

    Clearly, the recruiting team at Agoda is making a lot of efforts to improve the hiring experience.
