The Aimco team made a major investment in the DC-area last week with the acquisition of Avery Row, a high-end, boutique apartment community with 67 apartment homes. The community is in Arlington, Virginia, just over the Key Bridge across from Georgetown and three miles from downtown DC. The property is conveniently located near major jobs centers, amenities, and public transit within the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor of Arlington.

We offer an annual scholarship program for college-aged children of team members. Since 2004, Aimco has awarded 491 college scholarships to help team members with the cost of higher education. When team members are faced with unexpected financial emergencies, Aimco Cares 4 U provides help to ease the burden. And when team members are deployed for active military duty, Aimco continues to pay their full salaries and benefits during their service to our country.
Building community is a priority for Aimco. We provide 10 paid hours to each team member annually to volunteer in local communities. I have been working at Aimco Apartment Homes full-time (More than 10 years)
We do the right thing…always! I am proud to say I have been with Aimco for thirteen years! Last year I was feeling the work load was becoming overwhelming and I was stressing out about it! Luckily I had a dream job with another company drop in to my lap! It was a brand new ground up community, closer to home cutting my commute in half and a slight but not substantial pay cut. Well I left Aimco after 12 years of service! It was not long after this that I realized this new dream position was not my cup of tea! My day to day was very lax and consisted of keeping the office and clubhouse facilities clean, and really taking a back seat to all of the maintenance decisions being made. This made for very long days! It was at this point I decided I would not be staying at this “Dream Position”! I thrive on success and the difference I make in the lives of my fellow teammates and residents. I want to make or help make the decisions if I am the closest one to what is actually going on. Guess what.. I had that as a ten year team member at Aimco, however that ship had sailed. Around this time a past Aimco colleague had contacted me saying a position was opening, my first thought was nah, I just left 6 weeks ago! Well then I continued to think about what Aimco had done for me in the past and how they actually made me feel as a team member, and you know you just don’t see that everywhere! After making contact with Aimco leadership and having some phone conversations I was COMING BACK!! Not only did they bring me back with all the benefits I had when I left they even gave me a slight increase in compensation! Upon my arrival after the 10 week hiatus I felt reenergized and felt a different energy coming from Aimco! We truly drive innovation and change! I am sure anyone that is reading this has heard “ Build the Bench” yup we do that here at Aimco, we give everyone the tools and training to get where ever they want to go within the organization. However what I don’t think everyone realizes…here at Aimco we are LOADING THE BASES and the GRAND SLAM is right around the corner. We have a TON of talent working here at Aimco and invite anyone that is ready to invest in their career growth to look into us! If you are the type of person that thrives on results, productivity, success and at the end of the day that feeling of accomplishment you know where to go!
Well I have read some feedback about cons at Aimco and yes some are true, We do work weekends and holidays time to time, We do work some crazy hours at times, We do get calls in the middle of the night, We do make crazy changes in process, We do at times make mistakes. However there is a key word here and it is “WE”! I just want to say this is WORK and that is what We do! People call Aimco home for all of these so called “CONS”

I applied online. I interviewed at Aimco Apartment Homes (Los Angeles, CA) in June 2018.
The interview process was very professional. A company recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn. Expressed a interest in my work experience and asked all the right questions. Was very through on the process that would take place and who they were looking for. The entire interview process was extremely transparent, which I appreciated. I was able to finish the interview process within a week.
