Location, decent benefits, freedom to do whatever you want, lots of freedom; great vending machines; nice people to party with and blow off steam
Supervisors and managers are given zero power. The only way to get rid of an incompetent employee is to catch them with a drug test, or convince the senior managers, which is a rarity. Everybody knows this, there is little incentive to work hard when lazy people who make mistakes are not disciplined.
Death by meetings and committees that accomplish little.
Advice to Management
Empower your supers and managers. Trust them. Listen to your people. Respect your people.
I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Air BP (Warrenville, IL) in December 2009.
In the middle of the interview, the interviewer stood up and said I just don't think you are qualified for this job. I have never been treated so rudely in my career. Obviously, she had not read my resume prior to the interview.
