Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

Pros

This is such a great place to work! For as fast as the company is growing, the leadership team has still been really intentional about maintaining a healthy culture. I love coming into work every day

Cons

It can be difficult to work with our second team in Barcelona with the time difference, but everyone is really flexible and adaptable. It's also a period of very rapid growth and expansion for the

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at AirDNA (Barcelona) in Feb 2023

    Interview

Got through to the stages, told the recruiter I had a dog allergy, she states she “spoke” to the team and that basically its best I dont move forward in the interview process.

So this is what I said back-

    Hi K.....o

I think its a little ridiculous that they cant be a solution, I am a great candidate for this role and I believe I will be great for this position, Companies make adjustments all the time for disabilities and are always stating “inclusion” so Im unsure how this is any different, I have worked remotely for 3 years and have had the highest numbers in the businesses Ive worked, continuous and consistant overachievements and out performed all others, If someone applied and had to use a wheelchair..would you ask them not to apply because you dont have the facilities onsite to cater for them? Or would you respectfully tell them the work can be done remotely if they are put through to finals? If you had a candidate that had a heart condition or asthma and couldnt take part in certain team building activities..would you ask them not to apply or would you tell them that they would be allowed to find other ways to participate?
I think your job description should state that you only want people that dont have allergies and disabilities. Be truthful as a company.

A successful business is one that will find a way to bring assets into it not knock them back due to liabilities/animals that bring no revenue in.

    Thanks.
