    Backend Engineer Interview

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Aira in April 2018.

    Interview

Applied for Frontend, got interview for this position, despite being a better fit for frontend. First step was a 30-minute phone interview, and onsite or video interview for 2.5 hours. Phone interview went good, but video interview setup was confusing. Asked a couple of questions by the CTO, who was on his phone all the time and eventually left in less than an hour. Then interviewed by engineer for another hour. Didn't go well because obviously I wasn't a fit for the position, and I asked him that multiple times without getting a clear-cut response. Then he said he had to cut the interview short because his colleague sent him a last-minute message saying he couldn't make it. The next day I got a rejection email from him. Started to wonder if he lied to make an excuse to cut the interview short. Asked if I would still be considered for other positions, got no as the answer. It was a waste of time and super confusing. Not a good experience at all.
