Mission: We were founded in 2007 to discover and develop novel therapeutic solutions leveraging hypoxia inducible factor—or HIF—biology, a primary regulator involved in multiple major biological pathways.
A Team with Heart! The Akebia team had a strong showing and lots of fun at Pairings for Prevention Thursday night, tasting paired beer and food selections and raising money to help people with kidney disease. We are proud to help and to support the great work done by The American Kidney Fund.
Our HIFsters came out in force to support people with kidney disease at the National Kidney Foundation’s Boston Kidney Walk this past weekend. A great time for a great cause!
Pursuing advances across multiple disease states.

Everyone at Akebia is inclusive and makes you immediately feel like you are part of the team. There are many smart people that have different backgrounds, and we've all somehow all found our way to Akebia. Even though the company is growing rapidly, people know what good looks like and implement it daily. Akebia does so many of the things you want a company to do, such as communicate, have great benefits, respect life balance, and be flexible.
As we grow, it will be interesting to see how the company transforms from a learning/research organization into a commercial one.
I applied online. I interviewed at Akebia Therapeutics (Boston, MA) in April 2015.
I had a phone screening, then they asked for an in-person interview and then an offer was put together a week later. It was a pretty standard process, it wasn't particularly difficult. They're looking for fit.
