Pros

Family oriented, great benefits, great hours, pay rates are excellent and always better than expected, pension plans, 401k, HR staff listens

Cons

Once it was sold to Laclede/Spire, it wasn't nearly as happy of an environment, benefits changed and some people lost some added vaca they earned

Advice to Management

Remember employees are a huge asset and need to feel appreciated and needed to be highly productive...big companies like Google have it right

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Alabama Gas (United States) in Aug 2012

    Interview

The hiring process is lengthy. After completing the application be sure to check emails daily for request for job testing. You will have a two part clerical test. First part is typing. If you pass the typing test you will be ask to move to the second phase of testing. The second phase is MS Word, Excel, and mock call center test. Check your email to determine whether you passed the test. Second and final stage of testing is a group panel interview. The interviewers will asked you behavioral type questions from a book (Remember, think about a problem; what steps you took to solve the problem, make sure the end results were that you solved the problem and the customer was very satisfied). Next, phase is excel test and mock calls. Finally, you will receive an email letting you know whether you pass the test. Depending on the need of the call center you maybe called immediately or a few months.
    Interview

Most Difficult is remember to answer the mock calls questions based on the information read in the book.
