I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Alain and Marie Lenotre Culinary Institute (Houston, TX) in November 2013.
I received three telephone calls to discus the job as well as a detailed email explanation and job description before the interview. After speaking with the CEO for 3 hours, I met with the owners for more discussion and questions about my experience.
I asked about benefits package and countered their original offer since my then current position had much better benefits. They raised the starting salary.
