Giving Back to the Community

At Alan Plummer Associates, Inc., we strive to give back to the community. Employees are encouraged to be involved in philanthropic activities, whether through donations or by volunteering their time. APAI employees have participated in mission trips to Nicaragua and Guatemala, collected and donated shoes and backpacks, and volunteered their time to educate children in school about the engineering and science field. APAI and APAI employees also pledge annually and make donations via payroll deduction to United Way and Living Water.

Living Water International - Since 2009, APAI employee donations and company match funds have paid for five new water wells located in rural Guatemalan communities that previously had no access to clean water. In 2010, APAI employees traveled to Guatemala and participated in drilling and completing a new water well for a community school located in the La Machina region of Guatemala.

In 2012, APAI provided funds for a well rehabilitation project in Ghana, West Africa, extending our impact to a second continent. Over 3,900 people now benefit from clean water provided through these wells, improving both the health and economic viability of the communities.

During the summer of 2013, APAI employees embarked on a second well rehabilitation trip to Nicaragua; Spring 2014, Spring 2016 and Fall 2017 APAI employees again traveled to Guatemala.

2018 APAI Drill Trip

The date is set to drill a water well in Guatemala – August 18 through August 25, 2018.  We have requested a reservation of a “full team”, which is comprised of 7 to 12 people. As in the past, APAI offers scholarships toward this trip.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Alan Plummer Associates (Dallas, TX) in May 2010.

    Interview

The interview process was a very comfortable. The welcome was very formal. Travel expenses were paid. I had several interview with different people from Senior Engineers and junior engineers.

    Interview Questions

    • The most difficult question was something very specific about water treatment. I can't remember what the question was but I do remember how hard it was to answer it. It felt just like answering a final question from my water treatment class in my master degree program.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

It very reasonable and comfortable. They were very understanding.
