Pros
1. The People: Alation does a fantastic job building a culture of inclusion and participation. In my time with the company, I've never felt like I can't find an answer to any question. Response timesCons

Interview
The process was fine until I got to the "culture and values" stage, at which point the CS director they paired me with asked me multiple condescending and sexist questions. (I've worked internally with developers for my whole career, and he said "I look at you and i think you can work with customers, but can you work with developers? You can't just smile at them and say please"). I asked him what I thought was a softball question about DE&I and he told me that he "sees me, but doesn't see me" (I guess trying to say he doesn't see race or gender, which is funny thirty seconds after he made a comment about my appearance), and that I should ask Deb from HR because it's not his thing. Again, this is the CULTURE AND VALUES interview. I think their choice of ambassador for that says a lot about what (and who) they do and don't value. You're a young blonde woman, are you sure you're smart enough to talk to engineers? (paraphrasing)
