There was opportunity available for those who were ambitious and willing to work very hard. The vacation package was good for the area and industry.
Heavy workloads and a lean workforce made it a challenging work environment. The support- to production-staff ratio was very unbalanced. As a result, the culture was reactive rather than proactive.
Advice to Management
They needed to be more forward-looking in their staff development.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Albany-Chicago Company, LLC (Pleasant Prairie, WI) in May 2009.
Apply to a temp service QPS. That is pretty much it. If you have a solid attendance history you should get the job no problem. Very easy to get in. Once you get in with the temp service you do a walk through and then you say yes or no and usually everything just falls into place.
They don't negotiate unless you are applying for a salary position. Don't go higher than 12 starting entry-level and no lower than 10 per hour
