I have been working at Alexandra Champalimaud & Associates full-time (More than 3 years)
I've learned so much from my experience at Champalimaud and have been given the chance to work on a range of projects from high-profile hospitality to residential projects all over the world. On many occasions, you get to work directly with Alexandra Champalimaud and Ed Bakos. They both are very hands-on with each project, which means you'll always be given the opportunity to learn from the best! Everyone is always willing to help and there's a great sense of teamwork. If you are passionate and hardworking, your work and development won't go unnoticed by upper management. There's always an opportunity to grow within the company.
The studio itself is located in a great location downtown and easily accessible to trains, restaurants, etc. It's not always just about work - upper management knows how to balance work and fun with occasional team meetings and outings.
As with many design firms, you will experience a few long days and nights, but you gain a great learning experience in return.
I applied through college or university. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Alexandra Champalimaud & Associates.
Really great group of people, interviewed with several people at different levels in the firm.
Interview lasted about 45 minutes. Thoroughly discussed experience and projects. Everyone was very nice and it was a positive experience which ended with a tour of the space.
