The practice of alchemy is most commonly known for turning ordinary base metals into precious ones, specifically turning lead into gold. At Alkami, we are focused on changing ordinary online and mobile banking into something of tremendous value for both the financial institution and their customers and members.
Our sole focus is providing the ultimate digital banking solution to banks and credit unions. We accomplish this by focusing on the four key elements of our business: Build, Sell, Install, Support. It is only when all four of these elements work together that we are able to “transform lead to gold”.
We were born after the debut of the iPhone. We grew up in the age of tablets, social media and app stores. We knew that the legacy online banking solutions would never be able to meet the needs of banks and credit unions in a digital-first world. The outdated technology and interfaces, characterized by link farms, single-sign-ons and batch updates, wouldn’t satisfy a generation of tech-savvy consumers and businesses.
That’s why we built our solution from the ground up as a single platform for all functions, across all devices. That’s why we placed heavy emphasis on user experience and real-time integration to third-party providers. That’s why we decided to make it customizable and extensible by our clients. Intuition met innovation and the result is The Ultimate Digital Banking Solution.

I have been working at Alkami Technology full-time (Less than a year)
As some people have mentioned already, there are company benefits that are very nice to have (free lunches, free parking, great desks, and great HR initiatives like celebrating birthdays and anniversaries and a happy hour each month). Besides those and other perks like referral bonuses and unlimited time off, the best part for me is that my team is made up of really great people and my boss is good too. Ultimately, it is who we work with and for that affects our day-to-day happiness in the work place. Fortunately, I can count on my peers to work well together and get the job done collaboratively, and on my boss to have my back.
Other people may not have the same experience as mine mentioned above, depending upon the challenges and the people they work with. That said, I have referred several people eager to work at Alkami and one was hired, with another pending. So far, the person who was hired is happy to be here too.
Advice to Management
Communicate an Innovative Vision to provide Inspiration so that everyone feels motivated to do their best work and so that they are working toward the same goals and feel they are part of a truly progressive software company where they can make a difference.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Alkami Technology (Plano, TX) in January 2016.
Applied through a recruiter (local to DFW). Initial contact was a phone interview which lasted about 30 minutes with the technical manager. Secondary contact was an in-person interview with the technical manager for the group, two other technical leads, and an IT director. All of these people were very sharp and on point with their questions. Beyond that the interview was somewhat relaxed.
