I have been working at Allen Institute for Brain Science full-time (Less than a year)
Beautiful building, excellent benefits, great pay and nice people. Great mission. Many employee social events and speakers.
Typical growing pains.
Advice to Management
It's appreciated that the institute pays very competitive market salaries and is a beautiful place to work. The challenge is that Seattle is getting too expensive for research associates and others. The fact there are so many biotech grads worsens the pay problem. Please consider what can be done to make it easier for us all to work here. Most of us value the privilege of working here for you and Mr. Allen.
The PI kept saying how awesome he is and how excellent his group is. He once asked me to explain my previous project experience, but he didn't seem to understand my work and even showed doubts on my work. I felt a little bit insulted and very confused about the interview.
