I have been working at Alliance Machine Systems International full-time (More than a year)
Good company to work for with lots of new development opportunities. Engineering has lots of complex and changing challenges to keep things interesting. Engineering team is also looking for more support and growing. Management has been very supportive of my needs and of new ideas.
Like in all larger companies there are certain amounts of paperwork hurdles and wasted time. The recent acquisition by Barry-Wehmiller has made the last year interesting but I think it will be a positive change in the long term.
Advice to Management
We need more talented people in Engineering and Service. We have lost good people nervous about the acquisition or too heavy workloads especially in the service department.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Alliance Machine Systems International (Spokane, WA) in March 2014.
Interviewed with the Operations Manager. A "rough around the edges" fellow with a strong desire to do the right thing for the company but surrounded by others that have created a stuck in the mud mentality of resistance to change which as a result has rendered his efforts for productive change very slow and often unobtainable. He was rough talking, coming across more as a construction worker than a operations manager and was not forthcoming with the true employee problems that needed to be dealt with at the company.
Brief. I needed the job and the challenge and they offered low but I knew that once I had the job I would be able to show my true worth. I received 3 pay raises and two promotions after accepting the offer.
