Our Strategic Plan is built upon three key elements:
Safety - Our first priority is that nobody gets hurt.
Integrity - We keep our promises and conduct our business openly and honestly.
Respect - Together we create a workplace where people feel like they belong and can use their unique backgrounds, talents and perspectives to their fullest potential.
Service - We partner with our customers and communities to solve problems, create opportunities and help make life better.
Responsibility - We use resources wisely, care for the environment and continuously improve ourselves and our company.

Respect is a Core Value at Alliant Energy. We treat everyone with respect, and we want people of diverse backgrounds, talents and perspectives to feel like they belong. This environment contributes to our ability to provide safe, reliable power and excellent customer service.
Diversity is more than just the visible: races, ethnicities and genders. It includes education, cultural experiences, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity and many other invisible differences that make each of us unique. Our goal is to promote inclusion so that each employee feels free to contribute to their fullest potential.
“It is a top priority to me that Alliant Energy is an exceptional place to work. All employees should feel comfortable, valued and respected. It’s good for them, good for our company and good for our customers. Building and maintaining an inclusive environment takes effort. I am proud of the work being done on all levels, especially the employee-driven initiatives and events.” - Patricia L. Kampling, Chairman, President and CEO of Alliant Energy

We provide resources to our employees that foster inclusion and a better understanding about diversity. A diverse supplier base helps us to meet the challenge of supplying everything from office supplies to vehicles in a timely and cost effective manner. That is why we strongly support the use of minority, women and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses. We are a long-standing member of Wisconsin Iowa and Central Illinois Minority Supplier Development Council (WICI). WICI certifies minority-owned businesses and matches them with member corporations.

Advice to Management
Leverage the people and culture you have
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Alliant Energy (Madison, WI) in November 2015.
I applied through our university job networking website and got called in for an interview based on my cover letter/resume. It was a the headquarters at Madison, and one of the interviewers (my eventual boss) was in Madison with me, while the other Skype'd in from Iowa. It took about 45 minutes. I got the call with a job offer a little less than a week later.
