Summary of AlloSource Benefits Package
AlloSource is proud to offer employees a premium benefits package. Employees of AlloSource choose from several options to create a benefits plan that works best for their family. Employees are eligible for benefits after 30 days (one full calendar month) of employment, with the exception of the 403(b) benefit and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) where eligibility is effective immediately and Personal Time Off (PTO) and Vacation Time begins to accrue on the date of hire. Here are some highlights of benefits AlloSource employees enjoy:
“Working within AlloSource provides me a truly unique, rewarding and fulfilling work environment. I am privileged and humbled to be part of our company wide team, dedicated to enhancing and saving lives by providing human tissue for transplant. Prior to coming to AlloSource, I never experienced true purpose and meaning in work I have been blessed with here.”
- Bill, Shipping Distribution Coordinator - Hired 2012
“Since coming to work at AlloSource, I have learned unbelievable things about tissue donation and how it positively impacts the lives of so many. From cancer patients to burn victims, to athletes to the average everyday person, we share the gift of donation with all of them. Each and every one of us at AlloSource makes that gift possible, and when I go home every day, there is no doubt in my mind I have helped someone by doing what I do. It’s the most gratifying job I have ever had!”
“AlloSource was temporarily in the same building as Mid-America Transplant Services (MTS) when I was the receptionist for MTS. I could see first-hand the tissue leaving the building to benefit families in our communities. AlloSource is an extension of the donation process and with my background as a surgical technician I felt the transition was a logical one for career advancement as well complimenting a mission close to my heart.”
“It is truly an honor to work at AlloSource because I am working for a company that is making the world a better place. Knowing I am a small part of a company whose mission is to improve the quality of life for so many people makes it rewarding to go to work every day.”
“When I was 20, my father died unexpectedly. My family made the decision to donate his bone, corneas and tissue. Ten years later a friend who worked at UNYTS recommended I look into a local opening with AlloSource. After interviewing and hearing how AlloSource saves lives, coupled with the fact my father was a donor, I knew I was meant to work at AlloSource. I believe in our mission and what it represents, and am truly honored to be a part of this exceptional organization.”
“AlloSource is a company focused on its mission of changing patient’s lives. To be part of something so impactful and to have such meaning given to the work you perform makes it a pleasure to be part of the AlloSource team. In nearly 30 years of working in the medical arena, no job, nor organization has provided such inspiration and value. It is both an honor and a responsibility to not be taken lightly to say, ‘I am AlloSource.’”
I have been working at AlloSource full-time (More than a year)
There are so many positive things I could say about AlloSource but I will keep it quick. I have worked in quite a few different human donation settings, i.e.; OPO's/transplant centers, and I will say that this is by far the best! The wellness and insurance benefits, opportunity for growth, and satisfaction with management makes this a wonderful company. I was recently promoted to a different position and actually encouraged by my boss to apply and pursue the opportunity. I think that if you want to be happy here, you will be. If you want to grow here, take time to invest. I’ve read some of the previous negative reviews and can’t imagine...although I have never worked in the core to give insight. The whole company is constantly receiving emails from the CEO with the slogan “what you do matters” so I think you missed the point if you think leadership doesn’t care. We have recipients come in on a regular basis to thank us for our commitment to donation. This is truly a great company. They treat employees with respect and genuinely care about the culture and environment for everyone. This cannot be said for every company, especially in transplant. Also, I think it should be known that I’m not a big fish.. making what people describe as a ton of money. I think by most standards I make very little money but I am doing something that saves and enhances the lives of others and for that I am grateful.
The only con is something that I knew when accepting a position here, a commute. I wish there was a benefit to subsidize public transportation to a from work. Maybe an EcoPass or light rail benefit.
Advice to Management
Keep listening to your employees and encouraging them to take opportunities for growth. It means a lot. Also, your wellness program is top notch!
I applied online. I interviewed at AlloSource.
Application through website, got back to me around 3-4 weeks later with a phone interview. I was offered the position 1-2 weeks later. Overall it was very painless and quite responsive.
