  • Amada Caregivers are superstars! We honored the best-of-the-best during our annual spring conference by transporting them to sunny Orange County, Calif. Our six Value Award recipients enjoyed ocean-view dining, a visit to the shopping mecca South Coast Plaza, a spa day at Burke-Williams, and an excursion to world-famous San Juan Capistrano. Each of them were feted during a special awards ceremony held inside the Westin Hotel ballroom where Amada franchise partners heard their inspiring stories and learned about their many caregiving talents. At Amada we understand that caring for relatives can be rewarding but also stressful, time consuming and emotionally exhausting. How It All Began

Amada Senior Care, formerly Amada Home Care, was founded in 2007 by college friends Tafa Jefferson and Chad Fotheringham, who met while studying business and playing football together at University of the Pacific. In 2008 they were founding members of the American Board of Home Care, a non-profit dedicated to educating the senior community and establishing standards in senior home care. Both Tafa and Chad stand an imposing 6’6” tall and are known by many in the home care industry as the “big guys” with big hearts.

    I have been working at Amada Senior Care full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    I have been with Amada over the last 2.5 years and have loved my experience working for them. They are very flexible and can work around just about any schedule or time frame of work. They are always very accommodating, easy to work with, knowledgeable, and all around a great company to work for. They provide us with our uniform and all tools needed for doing our jobs including a variety of different trainings. I pretty much always have the information I need for working with various clients and always have the support of the office for questions or concerns 24/7. I am a mom of three and they make it possible for me to work and still be there for my children.

    Cons

    Far office for those of us who live near the south side of Colorado but there is not much we have to go to the office for so it’s not really a big deal.

    Application

    I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Amada Senior Care (Davis, CA) in February 2018.

    Interview

    The interview process was professional yet casual. The first interview was over the phone and was basically a review of experience and capabilities/interests. They reached out to me based on my capabilities and had me in mind for a specific client with specific needs. Once it was established that I met the qualifications, I submitted proof online of my certifications, then had an in-person interview. Then I was sent for a meet and greet with client.
