It all started with a simple lunch meeting. On a spring day in 2006, two men had a friendly chat about energy deregulation over turkey sandwiches. Those men – Jere Thompson, Jr. and Chris Chambless – were both excited about the opportunity they saw, and thus began their journey to build “the finest and most-respected retail energy provider in America.”
Their new venture would provide affordable electricity and gas, and they agreed that their company would never sacrifice integrity for growth.
The co-founders went to work immediately, and a few weeks later, Jere and Chris set up shop in a large, renovated warehouse in the historic West End district of downtown Dallas. The expansive office space suited their needs perfectly, helping to establish a feeling of “openness” and enabling faster communication. They bought several $19 fold-up tables to use as desks and put together a team of experienced executives who shared their vision.
Ambit Energy recorded revenues of almost $200 million in 2008 and nearly $325 million in 2009. As a result of this tremendous growth, Ambit was named the fastest-growing privately-held company in North Texas by SMU’s Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship in their annual Dallas 100™ rankings.
And 2010 brought further public recognition, when Ambit made the SMU/Cox Dallas 100™ for the second year in a row, as well as the Top 100 Places to Work by the Dallas Morning News. But the biggest achievement of them all was being named “America’s Fastest-Growing Private Company” by Inc. magazine, which placed Ambit at #1 on the publication’s renowned “Inc. 500” list.
In 2011, J.D. Power and Associates recognized Ambit as #1 for the most positive recommendations shared with friends, family and co-workers. This growing number of satisfied Customers helped the company reach their next great milestone in 2012 – exceeding1 million active Customers.
Top-Rated Customer Care
Behind Ambit's success is the proprietary BlueNet™ system, which delivers comprehensive account management and unmatched billing, usage and service access. This saves time and gives the Customer Care Team everything they need to deliver the top-rated service Customers want and the responsive results they deserve.
As one of the fastest-growing retail energy providers in every market they currently service, the Ambit Energy team, Consultants and Customers are energized for the bright future ahead!
At Ambit, we’re all about people helping people.
In the communities where we live, it’s our goal to work and serve to make them a better place. This is why we created Ambit Cares. Combining our team of Corporate employees and Consultants, Ambit Cares lends a hand to address a very important issue that affects people across the nation: hunger. In America, one in six people face hunger every day. Ambit Cares allows Consultants and employees the chance to change the face of hunger one volunteer activity at a time.
Launched at AMBITION 2015, Ambit Cares hosts annual volunteer days where employees and Consultants are asked to participate together across the country. Volunteers are also encouraged to donate additional time and resources outside of these designated calendar days.
Ambit Cares provides an opportunity for employees and Consultants to volunteer in local, community efforts that work toward ending hunger. Some examples include working in a community garden, donating time or food to a local food bank, working in summer or after-school food programs for students or participating in other programs at local agencies that fight hunger. You can volunteer as an individual, or form teams.
Learn how Ambit Energy Consultants are discovering financial freedom by offering Customers a great value on something we all use every day.
Almost every one of us uses electricity or natural gas on a daily basis. That’s why Consultants who start a business with Ambit Energy have a strong advantage over traditional network marketing opportunities. Simply by helping friends, family and new contacts save money every month on their energy bills, Ambit Consultants begin earning residual income immediately.
Plus, the investment to get started is minimal, and there is never a renewal fee. And since there are no lotions, potions, pills or powders to stock, inventory and deliver, our Consultants save on costs, avoid hassle and can focus on effectively reaching new Customers.
To help Consultants reach their fullest potential, Ambit has created a smart, easy-to-use Consultant support system designed to provide the business-building tools, guidance and unlimited training Consultants can use every day for achieving greater results. And after the initial investment, this support is absolutely free.
Currently, we offer service in California, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts,Maryland, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas and Virginia – with more markets opening up each year.
Why Recognize So Much Exceptional Work?
We’re asked, “Why does Ambit give out so many awards and recognitions?” That’s because there are so many ways our Consultants can achieve extraordinary results with the Ambit Opportunity. Plus, we’re proud to be powered by the brightest and the finest in the industry.
Whether just starting out or seasoned pros, fast-scoring pace setters or solid, steady performers – Ambit Consultants are destined for great things. And we’re here to celebrate their successes and support them every step of the way.
I have been working at Ambit Energy full-time (More than 5 years)
Freedom to work from home, excellent bonuses, rewarding helping people save money and make money
You need to be self motivated which isn't always a bad thing, learn to work alone
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Ambit Energy (Dallas, TX) in August 2016.
I applied to the job through a recruiter and I interviewed in Dallas office. It started with a phone interview and an in-person interview. Met with three development managers they came in the room one after the other with 2-4 minuets apart (for sure the last one missed what i had to say about my background and skills). One manager was texting while i was talking with the rest of the team. I felt like disrespected when he was texting on his phone and felt he does not care.
