I have been working at Amcor Rigid Plastics (More than 3 years)
Bottom-line driven company where financial goals are observed and understand throughout all leadership positions. Has an aggressive growth strategy and is a dynamic work environment that will challenge you; you will come out on the other side a stronger manager. Is focused on the customer and quality.
Cost constraints are a reality of the industry and most of manufacturing today. But capital monies do always appear for those key "must do" items. It is a fairly flat organization, by design, so it can be hard to build bench strength and don't expect a promotion every two years (there are no assistant managers of cat toys). Always have a plan and be ready to explain with facts and data to keep things on track. Very tight focus on Cost to Produce can be dangerous if not kept in to perspective and balanced against quality, safety and productivity.
Advice to Management
Overall is a well run company that works to balance short term profit needs with a longer term plan while dealing with a highly volatile core customer base that exerts unique sway.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Amcor Rigid Plastics (Ann Arbor, MI) in August 2016.
The phone interview was good but lacked in depth job duties and reporting structure. I think they are experimenting with this position. The recruiter called at the arranged time and ended a couple of minutes early. The recruiter could have been better prepared with company background and job responsibilities. Benifits were not part of the first round, just your pay requirements with no comment on target range for the position.
