American Dental Partners – Why Work For Us?

Elevating the practice and delivery of dental care, for 20 years and counting.

When we founded American Dental Partners (ADPI) in 1995, the dental profession was fragmented, decentralized and not positioned for the future. Over 80% of dentists practiced alone, struggling with balancing the day-to-day demands of running a practice.

Our ADPI vision was two-fold. First, we saw the industry’s need to move toward a more synergistic and streamlined group practice model. Second, we knew the practice methodologies of dentistry needed to evolve — in order to attract more vibrant, diverse and lifestyle-conscious people to the profession.

Today, American Dental Partners is an integral partner for more than 20 forward-thinking affiliated dental groups across the nation. On a daily basis, we provide business services for these multidisciplinary dental groups in the form of marketing, business development, technology, employee relations and more.

In 2017, American Dental Partners was recognized as a Continuing Education provider by the American Dental Association's Continuing Education Recognition Program. This prestigeous recognition is the latest example of how American Dental Partners is committeed to providing our supported clinical providers the training and resources necessary for dentist's to be successful in today's dental landscape.

Forming a clear, collective vision through core values and strategic goals.

To build a healthy and enduring organization, it takes a group of passionate professionals who are committed to exceptional patient care and service. At American Dental Partners, this common purpose is further empowered by a set of time-tested core values and strategic goals.

The result is a culture that provides an aligned long-term view for the success of the business — and the inspiring environment needed to bring this vision to fruition.

A cornerstone of the unique development offerings at American Dental Partners, this program provides the comprehensive knowledge and tools for dentists, practice leaders and resource group leaders to grow and heighten their professional capabilities.

The Leadership Institute brings leaders together from all areas of ADPI and its affiliated dental groups to focus on enhancing leadership effectiveness — while developing the necessary skills to build a healthy, enduring organization. This collaborative self-awareness journey is an invaluable forum for discussing and finding solutions for real-world issues, through peer-to-peer learning and the sharing of best practices.

As a result, Leadership Institute participants learn how to create inspiring and motivating work environments that further the ongoing pursuit of high quality standards and accreditation focused achievements at ADPI.

We created the American Dental Partners Foundation in 1999 as a tax-exempt, non-profit organization dedicated to improving oral health care through dental education and community outreach. The Foundation’s mission exists for the betterment of oral health care as a component of overall health: education, disease prevention and community patient care. The Foundation tackles such critical issues as the increasing cost of dental education, a growing shortage of faculty and declining opportunities for student clinical experiences as well as those affecting the provision of oral health care through the  Institute for Oral Health Improvement

The American Dental Partners Foundation will help address these issues by providing scholarships, funding continuing education programs and faculty positions and supporting externship and residency programs, as well as community outreach programs. American Dental Partners believes that investing in oral health care through dental education and the provision of community services will help ensure patients have access to excellent dental care now and in the future.

I have been working at American Dental Partners full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

I'm getting ready to start my 8th year and have gone through a lot of changes. Changes which are most always a progression forward; whether in our team members, technology or process. I'm currently completing my first year of Leadership Institute and gaining many skills and learning about my leadership styles and the climate the experience and create. These are amazing and valuable skills to take back to the teams that I work with.

    Cons

The only con that I have is in regards to the speed at which different projects or initiatives are rolled out and how many at a time. I personally feel that we could do a better job by defining them a little more, training all of the right people and then rolling out at a pace that the affiliates can embrace while they are trying to keep their focus on their patients.

    Advice to Management

There have a been a lot of changes, which I know have been very hard on a lot of team members. I know that you everyone is doing their best and I want you to know we appreciate all of your efforts.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at American Dental Partners (Wakefield, MA) in April 2018.

    Interview

Phone screen, phone interview with hiring manager, then onsite interview with Director of Sourcing, HR Rep, VP of Operations, and Sales Rep. Very laid back and conversational style on-site interview. All interviewers went out of their way to make me comfortable and really get to know me.
