American Hotel Register – Why Work For Us?

undefinedWe are committed to our customers

Since 1865, American Hotel has supported the growth of hospitality by building strong relationships. As a family-owned company that today is led by a third generation of the Leahy family, people and partnerships continue to drive everything we do.

As the premier global hospitality supplier, we help our customers create memorable guest experiences and achieve brand consistency across geographic markets. We offer more than 50,000 items, including 1,600 national brands and more than 2,500 best-value products from our exclusive Registry® brand.

For more than six decades, our comprehensive Buying Guide has served as the industry’s preeminent source for hospitality products. But our commitment to customers goes beyond providing the industry’s largest assortment of operating supplies and equipment (OS&E). The furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) category is another key strength of our business. Our end-to-end FF&E Solutions is a one-stop source to design, shop and replace. Through our online replacement platform, hotels will find brand-approved product.

Reflecting our long history of responding to customer needs and opportunities, our hospitality also extends to other industries, including healthcare, education, governmentand military services. Our wide-ranging products and solutions help varied organizations meet everyday needs.

Behind the strong legacy of Leahy family leadership, we have always stepped up to support the pace of progress. Today, we manage a global supply chain powered by extensive partnerships with established capabilities. This gives us the ability to offer customer solutions close to home and around the world.

Believing in our customers, suppliers and people!

As a company that helps you deliver the best in hospitality, relationships are at the forefront of our business. As we look forward to our 150-year anniversary, we continue to nurture a culture of collaboration, mutual respect and collective success.

Our first guiding principle is our family culture.
The Leahy family has modeled and motivated our gift of building lasting bonds, with colleagues and customers. For well over a century, our deeply rooted values have sustained our success and our commitment to demonstrating true hospitality.

With the guest experience in mind, we orchestrate positive customer outcomes.
We are there at every turn. We source the best products and our teams provide the best service. We often hear from customers that doing business with American Hotel is as easy – and as good – as it gets.

We consistently deliver on our promises.
As a company that is built on relationships, we put words into action every day. Whether helping customers get the right products at the right price or guiding a full-scale renovation project, we make a promise of clarity and consistency.

We are always adapting to the evolving needs of customers.
At American Hotel, we have responded to the changing needs of our customers since 1865. We continue to spur the pace of progress by listening to our customers and doing whatever it takes to support their success.

Embracing our culture

We strive to be a community of people committed to renewing ourselves. We work to expand our skills, be open to fresh ideas and opportunities, and adapt to changing technologies.

We strive to be people of character, love and compassion. We strive...

  • to be good communicators
  • to be fair and honorable
  • to be respectful and caring
  • to handle problems promptly
  • to make our customers more successful
  • and to communicate honestly and openly.

We challenge one another...

  • to learn new technologies
  • to try things we've never tried before
  • to be bigger and grander than we imagined we could be
  • to grow in our skills
  • to think more creatively.

We believe in one another. We support each other. We truly care.
In fact, as our Corporate Social Responsibility page makes clear, our family- oriented culture inspires our commitment to people, products and our planet. Our associates volunteer their time and talent to numerous community organizations and each month we feature a worthy charity in need of support. This goes hand-in-hand with our ongoing efforts to offer eco-friendly products and strengthen our sustainable business practices.

undefinedWork with us. Grow with us.

Work with us. Grow with us. We go above and beyond to offer new associates a variety of tools and support – including an excellent benefits package, ongoing wellness initiatives and paid volunteer hours that enable our associates to lend their time and talent to a wide range of community organizations.

undefinedStrengthening our communities

We’re dedicated to supporting the communities where we work and live. As a company, we have a long history of donating products and services, contributing time and resources to worthy organizations and responding to natural disasters.

Our associates volunteer their time and talents to a variety of charities. In fact, our company offers 16 hours of paid time for associates to volunteer with an organization of their choosing. It is our associates that direct much of our charitable focus. For example, each month we spotlight a different associate cause and offer everyone in the American Hotel family ways of contributing and getting involved.

We also organize blood drives, holiday gift donations, special fundraisers and more.

I have been working at American Hotel Register full-time (More than 5 years)

Culture, work life balance, the people! The corporate office has an awesome gym and cafe. Benefits are decent. Leahy family is wonderful.

Systems are outdated but that is being changed soon. Merchandising has high turnover and that is a crucial department for the entire company.

    Advice to Management

I love this company! Great company culture, amazing people to work with. They expect you to work hard which is expected when you are in sales.

    Continue investing in your people!
