I worked at American School for the Deaf. as an intern (Less than a year)
Great experience using my ASL skills as well as picking up new ones. Was able to help in classrooms for a variety of ages. Different ways to help out in and outside of the classroom. Loved the kids and being able to interact with them all day. Being able to use my passions and my ASL to reach kids. Learned a lot about what a teaching career would be like in special education or deaf education.
Lack of communication from management to Interns especially with schedule changes.
Advice to Management
Wish to see the management outside of orientation. Making yourselves more available would help.
