"Good experience, but not a lot of hands on work with art"

    Pros

Company is doing a lot of important work. Decent pay for a non-profit. Great place to get arts administration experience and learn about art advocacy across the country.

    Cons

A bit bland. Felt disconnected from art itself and instead very administrative.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Americans for the Arts (New York, NY) in January 2014.

    Interview

Interview went well, felt very engaged with the supervisor, who ended up hiring me to work with him for the semester. Told me about the company and invited me to ask questions and share why I was interested in the internship.
