Mission: Engineering Power-ful Solutions℠ by helping our clients provide reliable electric energy that powers life.
Since 2006, Ampirical has provided comprehensive customer support, from project conception to design engineering, project management, and construction in electrical transmission and distribution. With over 70 years' experience combined in this industry alone, Ampirical’s founders have a long history of fulfilling their mission in Engineering Power-ful Solutions ℠.
In 2011, Ampirical ranked number 578 on the Inc. 5000 list of all companies and number 6 nationally in Engineering.
Ampirical maintains strategic alliances with high quality, proven subcontractors and major equipment suppliers to provide turnkey capabilities in delivering transmission and distribution system projects on schedule and within budget. Past projects have proven the value of these relationships, especially when Ampirical has been uniquely positioned with vendors for long lead-time material.
Our Quality Control procedures manage the overall design and procurement effort, including the process of specifying, ordering, and tracking material to ensure timely delivery of reliable equipment and successful installations. Ampirical's clients include investor-owned utilities, municipalities, industrial plants, electrical co-ops, and independent power producers.
Ampirical's focus on Quality Assurance and Project Safety is a key factor in past project success. Our integrated project management process includes significant detail being given to team building; state-of-the-art design tools; value engineering; and detailed project planning.
In 2016, Ampirical celebrated its tenth anniversary; we were named Top 40 Workplace in a six state region; we were listed as one of Inc. 5000’s top fastest growing private companies in the United States (Ranking #1,987); and we were approached by the State of Louisiana’s Economic Development Department to join their FastStart program, to hire another 50 employees over the next five years. We had our best year ever in 2015, and surpasses those numbers in 2016; and it is anticipated that we will exceed 2016’s sales by the end of this year.
In just the past year alone, the firm grew its staff by 33%, to include opening a new office in San Ramon, CA (March 2016) and doubling the size of the San Diego office (September 2016). In addition, we grew out of our existing building in Mandeville, and moved the entire Transmission department to an adjoining building (March 2016); and recently relocated the entire Finance and Payroll group to an adjoining building (November 2016).
Join our team and share in our continued growth.

I have been working at Ampirical Solutions full-time
Great work life balance. Because of Ampirical is still a relatively small company that is growing; I have a greater exposure to responsibilities outside of the typical scope of my role. i.e. I am not a specialist. I get to touch more aspects of a project than I have in previous roles with much larger companies. This means I am more well rounded and have a better chance to grow. Case in point, I have been here for a little over a year, and I have been promoted. My supervisor provides feedback of my work, which allows me to know where I stand/know what I need to improve upon.
Location. My only complaint is my commute.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Ampirical Solutions (Mandeville, LA) in March 2015.
At first I was very intimidated since the interview was with the President and Vice President. I made sure I had everything very organized and neat before the interview and I went for it. Upon being in the room with Matt and Mark for a few minutes I realized how easy-going they were. The interview was about 30 minutes and consisted of personality questions with a technical question here and there, nothing too hard though. A very good experience.
