We’re part of the neighborhood.

Amscot is open early in the morning to late at night and is here for you 365 days a year with many 24-hour locations to serve you.
We set out to take care of our customers.
We ended up inventing a new kind of financial services company.
It all began in 1986 when Ian MacKechnie moved his family from Scotland to America and settled in Tampa, Florida. Carrying on the bakery business which he grew up in, Ian noticed that on Fridays many of his employees had to wait in long lines at convenience stores in order to cash their payroll checks.
He thought there had to be a better way. Within three years Amscot, the combination of the words America and Scotland, was born. It was a nod to the old country and a tribute to the new.
The first Amscot location opened at 4808 East Broadway, Tampa in 1989. Today, Amscot operates locations all over Florida serving more than 2.5 million customers. From check cashing and cash advance services to free money orders and wire transfers, Amscot offers a wide range of financial services at some of the most competitive rates in the financial services industry. We are also open evenings and weekends, seven days a week. Some locations are open 24 hours.
Although Amscot has grown and evolved since its inception, the focus has never changed. We continue to make life more convenient for customers who need financial services. Our staff is professional and friendly, working hard to ensure that you have a positive customer experience every visit.
To provide convenient, accessible financial services to our valued customers through friendly and attractive locations, to treat each other with dignity and respect, and to contribute to the communities where we do business.
In everything we do, we will always follow our four core values:
Come join one of Florida's fastest growing financial services companies.
Today, Amscot employs close to 2,000 associates and serves about 3 million consumers annually. If you are bright, motivated and hard-working, Amscot may have an opportunity for you. We look for individuals with restaurant, retail or customer service experience. If you are a Florida resident, possess a high school diploma or GED, basic math skills, and proven customer service, there could be a place for you at Amscot. If you are bilingual, it is a definite PLUS! Amscot first looks for qualified individuals within the company and promotes from within whenever possible, so there are numerous opportunities for growth. Amscot is an equal opportunity employer.

I have been working at Amscot Financial full-time (More than a year)
Full time hours, paid training, great people.
There aren't any. Very good company.
I applied online. I interviewed at Amscot Financial in May 2017.
I received an email from a recruiter. Interviewed at Amscot financial. They said not to arrive more than 15 minutes to your scheduled interview time. When you walk in you take a math test it has addition subtraction multiplication and percentages. You also have other papers about availability and credit check. You must have open availability from 6:30am-10pm. After you're done filling out all the paperwork and finish the test you then meet with the recruiter. She was very nice and made it very easy to answer questions so your not so nervous. I interviewed on Friday at 11:30am she said I should know back by Tuesday letting me know weather or not I was going to get offered a position. Saturday morning at 9am I received a call back from the recruiter saying they wanted to offer me a position. From there they email you paper work and you have to make sure you have everything done and ready by your first day of work. You have to take a drug test and send school transcripts in. There is also a 3 week training with daily test she had said. Now I am just waiting for my first day to start.
